POSITION OVERVIEW

JGM is seeking a motivated entry-level CNC Programmer to join our team and gain hands-on experience in the steel fabrication industry. In this role, you will assist in developing and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs for our fabrication machines, playing a key part in improving efficiency and precision. Under the guidance of experienced programmers and engineers, you will gain valuable real-world experience in CNC programming and manufacturing while contributing to our production process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CNC Programming Assistance: Collaborate with our programming team to assist in the development, revision, and debugging of CNC programs for various fabrication machines, including laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, and CNC routers.
  • Design Interpretation: Work closely with engineers and designers to understand project requirements, interpret design specifications, and contribute to the translation of design concepts into CNC programs.
  • Simulation and Testing: Participate in the simulation and testing of CNC programs to verify accuracy and functionality and assist in making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of CNC programs, program revisions, and machine setup instructions to ensure efficient and standardized fabrication processes.
  • Problem Solving: Collaborate in troubleshooting programming-related issues that may arise during fabrication and contribute to identifying and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Training: Learn from and alongside experienced programmers to enhance your CNC programming skills, deepen your understanding of steel fabrication processes, and develop proficiency in programming software.
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting and maintaining a culture of safety within the fabrication shop.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in CNC programming, machining, and manufacturing processes.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages or CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Entry-level candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
