Job Summary

Develops and maintains all programming required for Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) products. Provides manufacturing support in all areas of metal removal processes and related activities. Assists the I.E. Manager in managing programming systems, robotics and vending systems. Serves as a Leadman over CNC Programmer I team members.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities ( Essential)

  1. Works under the close supervision of the Industrial Engineering Manager.
  2. Generates and maintains programming for CNC machinery to produce high quality and accurate products according to engineering drawings and specifications. Utilizes both manual and computerized programming techniques.
  3. Participates in the review of existing manufacturing processes in order to achieve cost reductions and process or quality improvements.
  4. Designs and develops various tooling, jigs, and fixtures needed to facilitate accurate production and manufactured items.
  5. Provides on-the-floor assistance to shop team members with the setup and operation of CNC equipment.
  6. Uses computer drafting software to aid in the programming process as well as to design and draw tools and fixtures as needed.
  7. Assists the I.E. Manager in managing programming systems, robotics and vending systems.
  8. Performs other relate duties as assigned.


Special Location/Position Requirements:

Job Specifications (Work Experience, Skills, Abilities, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience CNC Programming
  • Proficient in Espirt Cam and Mazak Camware
  • Read and understand Blueprints
  • Read precision measuring devices
  • CAD software

Education Requirements:

High School/GED

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Normal office conditions. Office may be located in a multi-level office building. Job demands may require long periods of sitting, telephone work, and/or computer work, as well as interaction with other people. Normal office conditions include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, driving, and/or traveling.

Moderate exposure to shop conditions, which are variable depending on the task assigned, but are generally dirty. Is subject to shop noise. Involves extensive standing and walking. Skin and eyes are subject to drying and irritating fumes, vapors, and solutions controlled to OSHA standards. Works both in and out doors, normally indoors, with sometimes dusty or confining work areas when in the shop/lab.
