CNC Plasma/Oxy-Fuel Machine Operator

FULL-TIME

$27.88/hr

Starting pay is $27.88-$29.25 DOE.

This individual will be responsible for processing steel plate and sheet material via the use of CNC Plasma and Oxy-Fuel Burning machines. The operator will be capable of operating all aspects of the machine(s) and will be responsible for ensuring a smooth flow of operation and maintaining a high level of production.

Process discrete and cut-to-length plate through the Plasma/Oxy-Fuel machines and/or Oxy-Fuel Track Torch in accordance with the equipment manufacturers instructions.
Perform daily routine maintenance and lubrication.
Uses overhead cranes and forklifts to unload, store and stage raw material for processing. Verifies that the material is correct as ordered, follows practices and procedures as outlines in SSAB's ISO 9001 programs.
Verifies the correct product is properly positioned for consumption and properly identifies and packages finished product as stated on production order or established specifications.
Records all production data in either electronic or written form as required.
Reports all equipment problems to the Maintenance department or Operations Manager.
Responsible for daily inspections of lifting and processing equipment (when needed).
Follows all safety rules and regulations.
Secondary Responsibilities

Train to operate Coil Processing/Cut-to-Length equipment.
Train to operate CNC Machining Centers.
Additional Responsibilities

Assist maintenance on a volunteer basis.

Schedule

Shift start: 6:00AM or 2:30PM
Shift length: 8 hours
Monday-Friday, 2nd shift is 4 days and 10 hours

  • Must be at least 18+ years old
High School Diploma or equivalent 1 - 2+ years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing, production or metal fabrication setting.
