Operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill. May check parts for conformance to specifications and run and set up more than one unit simultaneously.Essential Job FunctionsOperate multiple types of fabrication equipment:Set-up and operate CNC machining centers in multiple cells that include but are not limited to mills, lathes, presses, routers etc.Perform advanced setup operationsPerform work independently with minimal defectsRequirements: Qualifications and CompetenciesRequires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures. Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of partsIntermediate math skills and/or aptitudesAbility to use basic measuring instrumentsExcellent problem solving skillsMust be able to work overtime as neededEducation and ExperienceTypically requires 5+ years of combined formal training and experience, or equivalent. A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required.
