We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer for Programming Milling & Lathe Machines
Full time, Permanent with an engineering background to join our well-established and reputable company located in East Auckland. (We also have a position in Wellington).
CNC Machining Programmer on Mills & Lathes
An industry-leading engineering firm based in East Auckland, utilising the latest technology, machinery, and processes. Their machine shop is equipped with the latest machinery, where you will have the opportunity to operate some of the best CNC machines within NZ.
You will be working in a very large CNC machining jobbing shop with over 50 CNC milling machines and lathes, including machines like Mazak, Doosan, Haas, and Hyundai. Their CNC Machine Shop is expanding rapidly, so they are looking for a number of CNC Machine Programmers to join their team. The company manufactures precision parts for a diverse range of hi-tech industries locally and overseas. Products are manufactured from standard free machining carbon steels and plastics, through to exotic materials such as titanium. No two jobs are the same, and every day presents a new and exciting challenge.
Key qualities of an ideal candidate:
- Programming CNC machines (Mill & Lathes)
- Generating programmes primarily for 2 axis and Mill - Turn lathes and assisting with 3/4/5 axes Mills, using SolidCam
- Previous CNC machining experience is an advantage
- Ensuring the machinery is programmed for efficiency and safety
- Ensuring our high-quality standards are achieved through programming methods
- Handle prototypes, small batch runs, and full-scale production
- Working alongside our team of experienced and knowledgeable setters and operators and also liaising with customers
- 3/4/5 axes milling, 2 axis and Mill - Turn lathes
- SolidCam and SolidWorks
- Programming languages, especially G codes
- Reading and understanding complex technical drawings
- Proficiency with a variety of controllers, including Fanuc, Siemens, and Mazatrol
- The understanding of tooling selection, cutting strategies, and work holding methods
- A commitment to quality and safety in manufacturing
- Positive approach to continuous improvement
- Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills & verbal communication skills
- A good attitude, a team player, and not afraid of a challenge
- Work unassisted, to deadlines, producing quality workmanship
- Currently be living in NZ & have the right to work in NZ (including work visas)
Job Details:
Salary: Good $40-50/hr rate (aligned with skills, qualifications, experience, and attitude)
Shift: A choice between a 4 or 5 day working week, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
Hours: 40hr - 50 hours per week with a chance to work extra hours during busy periods
Location: East Auckland Area
Type: Fulltime Permanent job
