JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY
-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Performs a variety of fundamental field engineering tasks under minimal supervision, involved in the operations, maintenance, and programming of CNC equipment and systems. Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:
• Performs engineering or other highly technical tasks that are varied and may be somewhat difficult in character.
• Plans and carries out successive machining steps and resolves technical problems by standard practices and techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculations.
• Supports projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detail instructions on the intent and scope of the parts to be prepared.
• Using computer-assisted test methods, programming, and modeling on equipment or parts.
• Studies currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to the manufacturing specialty.
• Ability to program CNC machine using CAM software. Ability to Understand and read G-Code.
• Ability to transfer CAD/CAM designs to machine programmed models.
• Experienced with CNC vertical mills/lathes. Experience with waterjets, brake press, cutting, bending, and drilling desired.
• Ability to interpret drawings, sketches, CAD/CAM files, and identify specifications and tolerances of parts being produced.
• Ability to produced finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances, using measuring tools and instruments.
• Ability to train others in the concepts of programming and modeling.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 7 years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field are required for this position. In addition, a Field Engineer II must possess the following qualifications:
• Must have professional knowledge of applicable machinery concepts and principles, and a familiarity with related metal working fields.
• Must have a practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions.
• Position will require the ability to qualify for and maintain a Security Clearance. SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $83,200.00 to $87,360.00 annually. WORKING CONDITIONS
The incumbent will work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and conditions in which mechanical equipment is located. The operations of the equipment could be loud, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving components. Routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling, stretching, and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. This position may require travel. The foregoing conditions and physical requirements represent the general characteristics required to perform the essential functions for this job. If working in a training capacity, employees must be supervised at all times by a competent trained or certified company employee. Under no circumstances should employees use other employee's equipment without permission from their immediate supervisor or manager. Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4 owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval of the shop manager.
