This role will directly oversee the RRD Houston Commercial Print expansion warehouse and fulfillment location daily operations, warehouse integrity, etc. and will supervise and direct the activities of the fulfillment/warehouse department employees at this location.
- Establish initial workflow, processes and KPIs for new secondary warehouse facility.
- Supervise employees in the fulfillment/warehouse department at the secondary location.
- Direct the activities of employees to ensure accurate communications and seamless operations within the company across shifts and departments and with vendors.
- Use sound management principals and techniques to achieve a high level of efficiency and to develop talent, skills, and processes.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes, ISO and SOPs, continuous improvement, equipment, safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with customer service, scheduling, manufacturing departments, and other locations and vendors to ensure accurate, timely production and delivery of customer product.
- Effectively plan and schedule workflow through the department and modify scheduling as needed in accordance with business needs. Apply continuous improvement principals to evaluate processes. Work with team members to resolve, and request other resources as necessary.
- Organize work for efficient operations. Ensure that departmental goals, including safety, quality, continuous improvement, and KPIs are established and met.
- Administer policies and procedures and recommend changes as necessary.
- Follow positive employee relations practices. Select and recommend candidates for hire, promotion, recognition, disciplinary action and/or termination keeping appropriate documentation.
- Promote a positive work environment, sound training programs, the mentoring and development of employees and adherence to ISO work instructions and procedures.
- Track and control department expenditures and labor costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets. Provide reporting and analysis to management.

- Knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft Office products and database systems. Experience with WCSS, WBS, Monarch Foundation, FM Pro ship schedule, UPS / Fed Ex Powership a plus. Demonstrated comfort and ability to learn and leverage new systems.
- Bias for process focus and the demonstrated ability to drive process improvement. Must have demonstrated flexibility to multi-task and shift focus and re-prioritize as the situation dictates.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively approach problems and drive for results.
Required Experience
5+ years experience in comprehensive department management in a multi-shift fulfillment / warehouse environment
