Description

Leidos is seeking a talented Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team in support of a significant U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) initiative. The Antitrust Division of the DOJ plays a critical role in enforcing federal antitrust laws and fostering fair market competition. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud architecture that aligns with our strategic business goals. You will be instrumental in developing cloud migration strategies, optimizing cloud infrastructures, and mentoring teams as they navigate the adoption of cloud technologies. Your expertise will steer our critical decisions surrounding cloud technologies and enterprise system integration, ensuring secure, reliable, and future-ready cloud solutions. This position is based onsite in the DC area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of cloud architecture strategies that enhance overall business objectives.
  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions utilizing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Manage and create a comprehensive cloud architecture roadmap aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Guide teams in cloud resource utilization and optimal cloud adoption practices.
  • Oversee migrations of on-premises systems and applications to cloud platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and peak performance.
  • Strategize hybrid and multi-cloud integrations for seamless connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices with tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on cloud architecture and development of cloud-native applications.
  • Encourage adherence to agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies during cloud application development and deployment.
  • Stay informed on emerging cloud technologies and trends to keep the organization competitive.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of relevant experience. Additional years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud or enterprise architecture with a focus on implementing cloud solutions at an enterprise scale.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, including microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficient in cloud security practices, including identity and access management (IAM) and encryption.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Experience with cloud cost management and optimization methods.
  • Adept at converting business needs into cloud-centric architectural solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
  • Proven leadership abilities in guiding technical teams and mentoring junior architects and engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
  • Background in automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI for cloud development and deployment.
  • Knowledge of cloud governance tools (e.g., CloudHealth, CloudBolt).
  • Experience building cloud-based data lakes or AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
