Howdens Joinery has an exciting new opportunity in the Cloud Team. We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions that enhance collaboration and productivity by automating infrastructure, workflows, and continuously improving application performance.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our offices in Brackmills Business Park, Northampton, or Raunds, Northamptonshire, with some home working options.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours (minimum 30 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain, and deploy secure, high-availability, fault-tolerant systems at scale using on-premise and cloud-native architectures for development, testing, and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain solutions for operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring.
  • Deploy and manage CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments to maximize efficiency and enable daily deployment of new code.
  • Develop policies, standards, governance, and guidance for teams using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with architects to design scalable infrastructure and systems for complex applications.
  • Work with the Release Manager on release planning, including deployment steps and activities before and after deployment.
  • Support container-based solutions using Kubernetes/Docker for Azure Cloud.
Requirements:
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies and Platforms, including Azure DevOps (or similar), Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, Cloud Security, Connectivity, Subscription Management, CDN, and High Availability.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools like Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and clustering technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in building automated CI/CD pipelines with tools like SonarQube, Fortify, Selenium.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence decision-makers in cross-functional teams.
