Responsibilities Our client is looking for a Cloud Operations Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will support cloud developers by onboarding them into the Common Operations Release Environment (CORE), a centralized DevSecOps platform that facilitates delivery of mission-critical software. You'll work closely with development teams, manage AWS and DevSecOps tools, and maintain operational documentation to ensure smooth onboarding and support processes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for developer inquiries related to NGA-provisioned development tools
- Facilitate onboarding of developers into the CORE software factory environment
- Provision and manage AWS WorkSpaces for development teams
- Build and maintain WorkSpace bundles tailored to project needs
- Create and manage IAM users, policies, and permissions
- Administer Active Directory users, groups, and organizational units
- Oversee access to CORE's DevSecOps tools including GitLab, Nexus, Kong, and OpenShift
- Monitor AWS CloudWatch metrics to assess resource health and application performance
- Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation of onboarding procedures for internal and external teams
Requirements - 7+ years of experience in IT development roles
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Understanding of DevSecOps processes and GitLab CI workflows
- Strong background with RHEL or CentOS Linux distributions
- Experience working with Python in operational or scripting contexts
- Proficient in Amazon Web Services infrastructure and services
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Education Requirements - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
- Compliance with DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level III requirements
Preferred Requirements - Knowledge of containerization platforms and Kubernetes orchestration
- Familiarity with cloud APIs and service integrations
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform
Clearance Requirements - Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active TS/SCI clearance is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
