Location: Mountain View, CA - Hybrid

Type: 6 Months - Contract (High probability of extension)


Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. You'll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is crucial for accelerating the development and validation of our autonomous eVTOL aircraft by providing world-class infrastructure solutions. You will be part of the STS Tools team, which provides essential data and simulation infrastructure and tools across.

This is a hybrid work opportunity, requiring you to be onsite at our Mountain View office three days per week, with flexibility for the remaining days.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in this space, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape the foundational infrastructure that powers the development and testing of products driving the future of autonomous flight. You'll work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and collaborate with talented engineers and researchers across disciplines like flight controls, autonomy, safety, simulation, system test, flight test, manufacturing, and certification.


What You'll Do:


• Design, implement, and manage robust and scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform or OpenTofu. You'll leverage core GCP services like Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery, with a strong focus on containerized workloads and Kubernetes.


• Implement and manage DevOps pipelines using GitLab CI/CD to automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, and operational tasks.


• Design and implement automated workflows using workflow engines to orchestrate complex data processing, build, deployment, and simulation pipelines.


• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate their infrastructure needs into secure, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.


• Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize our GCP environment, staying current with the latest services and best practices.


Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.


• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on GCP.


• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OpenTofu, along with deep understanding and hands-on experience with key GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.


• Proven experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, particularly within a GCP (GKE) environment.


• Solid experience with DevOps practices and pipeline automation using GitLab CI/CD, including the use of workflow engines for orchestration (e.g., Apache Airflow/Cloud Composer, Cloud Workflows, Argo Workflows).


• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).


• Strong understanding of networking, security, and access management in GCP, coupled with excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.


Desired:


• Experience with other GCP data analytics services or monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging).
