Job Description ECS is seeking a Cloud Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office in a hybrid remote/on-site capacity in support of a U.S. Government Mission Partner Enclave with a unique set of data and applications. The Cloud Engineer works closely with project and technical teams to swiftly develop and support solutions in an agile environment and deploy desktop and other Cloud capabilities to operational end users. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience implementing and supporting a Windows VDI solution in the Cloud; strong technical skills; and enterprise-level Cloud desktop integration experience supporting DISA hardened Cloud and endpoint systems. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team that promotes customer service, and internal excellence in communication, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork. Duties include, but are not limited to: Integrate with a team of subject matter experts in a highly agile environment, to implement best-in-class desktop and multi-Cloud solutions. Work within a multi-Cloud engineering team to design, build, implement and maintain Cloud solutions and new customer capabilities. Leverage a variety of automation, instance and/or container, orchestration, security, and native/non-native Cloud services for large DoD program(s). Identify specific issues in Azure Services Platforms, Active Directory, and Windows Desktop. Conduct in-depth diagnostics and develop innovative solutions to resolve issues. Develop tools and scripts to automate deployment, troubleshooting, monitoring, and diagnostics activities. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills U.S. Citizen. Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. If no degree, 10 years of relevant work experience may be substituted. Active DoD Top Secret security clearance (or higher) with SCI eligibility. 5+ years of experience developing, engineering, and deploying enterprise-class IT infrastructure Cloud systems and services. One or more certifications in Microsoft and or competing Cloud technology. 3+ years of experience and proficiency working with Azure Cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux endpoints, with hands-on experience with the following resources: Azure Entra ID, Virtual Networking, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, etc. Azure RDS's, RSV, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics Workspaces, etc. 3+ years of experience supporting Windows and Linux Server Desktop endpoints. 2+ years of experience supporting a Windows VDI solution for production users. 2+ years of experience with STIGing Windows and Linux endpoints and using the STIG Viewer for reporting. Minimum DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliant (Security+ or higher; Level III certification preferred). Knowledge and experience working with DoD organizations and/or performers. Proficiency with Cloud networking and troubleshooting Cloud networking environments (IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing). Experience in one or more automation languages (PowerShell, ARM Bicep Templates, BASH, Python). Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and execute accordingly. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Desired Skills Preference shown to candidates with: Master's degree in a Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or similar discipline. 2+ years of experience developing, engineering, and deploying Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, and DNS Experience with firewalls, NAT, SSL TLS, etc. Familiarity with GitHub GitLab concepts and procedures Hands-on knowledge and experience with Atlassian's Jira and Confluence.
