California's long-awaited statewide Cradle-to-Career Data System has launched. You can help build a statewide system that brings together existing data with an aim of addressing barriers to opportunity from early learning, through K-12, college, and career. The Cloud Engineer will fill a lead role in the design, development, maintenance, and operation of the Data System.

Department Information The Office of Cradle-to-Career Data (C2C) is a recently established office working to build a new statewide data system that will provide tools to help students reach their goals and deliver information on education and workforce outcomes. The office is building a suite of user-friendly resources focused on early learning through K-12 and higher education, as well as on the financial aid and social services that help students reach their goals. The vision is to foster evidence-based decision-making to help Californians build more equitable futures and empower individuals to reach their full potential.

Special Requirements
•   The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired. All interested applicants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). You must provide direct responses to each of the numbered items listed below. Each individual response must be numbered and include the full text of the numbered items prior to your response. In your responses to each question, please include specific examples of your education, training, and/or experience. Limit your SOQ to a maximum of two (2) pages, single-spaced, twelve-point Arial font.
•   Describe your experience developing, implementing, and integrating cloud solutions. Provide examples from previous projects detailing the project, your direct engineering contributions, your approach taken, challenges faced, the project outcome, and lessons learned.
•   Describe your experience applying software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies when engineering cloud solutions. Provide examples from previous projects detailing the SDLC project, your involvement in the project, your use of tooling for its management, the methodology employed (e.g., agile, waterfall, hybrid), and how deployments were managed.
•   Describe your experience with securing cloud solutions. Provide examples from previous projects detailing how you achieved adherence to the security frameworks, standards, and policy directives; and how you achieved compliance by monitoring, logging, and alerting. Note: Applicants who do not follow these instructions may be disqualified from the selection process. Cover letters and resumes do not take the place of the SOQ.
