ECS is seeking a skilled
Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team, providing support to our national laboratory customer in
Albuquerque, NM.
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for supporting and working with Azure Commercial and Azure Government cloud offerings. This includes patching, configuration, service and incident fulfillment, and capacity management. The role involves maintaining the integrity of cloud resources to meet established requirements for service levels, disaster recovery, business continuity, and security. The Cloud Engineer will coordinate and interface with customers, suppliers, and domain experts such as networking, storage, and datacenter personnel. The candidate should be able to solve complex problems involving the integration of a wide variety of technologies including servers, storage, networking, software, middleware, and all systems supporting the virtual environments.
The position requires performing the full lifecycle management (analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, integration, and maintenance) of the virtualization infrastructure, including testing of new hypervisors, integration with automation front ends, and Cloud offerings. The role will be responsible for contributing to planning activities such as capacity scalability and robustness and must be able to quickly learn new technologies and make recommendations to solve new problems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- BS with 4 years' experience or 10 years' job-related experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with the operations and management of cloud services
- PowerShell scripting
- Solid understanding of virtual computing and virtualization software (VMware, Hyper-v, etc)
- Solid understanding of networking and software-defined networking
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and methodologies, deployment checklists, and more
