Cloud Engineer/Architect - Top Secret Clearance with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cloud Architect/Engineer to join a Federal Program in Fort Belvoir, VA. Responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include: Configure and manage core AWS networking components, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, internet and NAT gateways, and Direct Connect, to ensure secure and scalable cloud infrastructure Troubleshoot and resolve complex AWS infrastructure issues while mentoring junior team members through installations and configurations Translate client ideas into technical solutions and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Collaborate across teams and departments, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for infrastructure, processes, and deployments Automate repetitive tasks and infrastructure provisioning to improve efficiency and consistency Stay current with AWS services, security best practices (e.g., CloudTrail), and continuously pursue professional development Bring experience in DOE environments, software project management, and delivering scalable, secure cloud solutions Qualifications for the Cloud Engineer include: Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS, security groups, NACLs, and load balancing Hands-on experience with Linux (Amazon Linux, Red Hat) and Windows Server, including system administration and shell scripting Deep knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM roles and policies, encryption, auditing, and incident response Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and infrastructure-as-code In-depth experience with core AWS services like EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and Lambda Ability to design and implement secure, scalable network and system architectures for diverse cloud applications Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance. Compensation for the Cloud Engineer includes: Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 depending on experience Comprehensive Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
