Job Description: Apptio Cloudability Specialist - FinOps
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Apptio Cloudability Specialist to help our organization optimize cloud costs and establish effective financial management practices across our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Apptio Cloudability platform and strong experience in cloud financial operations (FinOps).
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the Apptio Cloudability platform to provide visibility into cloud spend across multiple providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Configure and maintain cloud cost allocation, tagging strategies, and chargeback/showback models
- Develop custom dashboards and reports to track KPIs and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and work with teams to implement recommendations
- Lead regular cloud cost reviews with business units and technical teams
- Create and maintain documentation for cost management processes and best practices
- Establish governance policies to prevent cloud cost overruns
- Support budget planning and forecasting activities for cloud resources
- Collaborate with finance, engineering, and operations teams to align cloud usage with business objectives
- Stay current with Apptio Cloudability platform updates and new features
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with Apptio Cloudability or similar cloud cost management platforms
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization techniques
- Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their billing models
- Knowledge of cloud resource tagging strategies and cost allocation best practices
- Excellent data analysis skills and proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms for various audiences
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc.) preferred
- FinOps Foundation certification or Apptio Cloudability certification is a plus
