Description SAIC is seeking a Cloud Comp Engineer to support the Navy's mission-critical initiative to achieve seamless, distributed maritime operations and the Naval Operational Architecture (NOA). This role focuses on designing, deploying, and optimizing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure that enables data-driven decision-making and continuous delivery of mission-critical capabilities across domains. You will work closely with Navy stakeholders, software teams, and cybersecurity personnel to integrate modern cloud-native technologies that support resilient operations across land, sea, air, space, and cyber environments. This position is 100% on-site in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities: Design and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architecture (primarily AWS and Azure) to support Department of Defense (DoD) mission systems. Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. Configure and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes. Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to ensure system reliability and performance. Enforce cloud security best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Support containerized application deployment using Kubernetes, Docker, and orchestration platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS . Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and support mission-driven development environments. Write and maintain documentation including architecture diagrams, user guides, and system configurations. Qualifications Education and Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes) preferred. Relevant certifications (Security+, Network+, or SATCOM industry certifications) are a plus. Required Skills and Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience engineering solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP . 5+ years of hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, including secure configuration, patch management, PKI, system hardening, and integration with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and identity and access management (IAM). Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages. Experience with GitOps and DevSecOps tools and methodologies (e.g., Argo CD, Flux, Terraform, Tekton, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD). Experience with cloud-native services such as Elastic Load Balancers (ELBs), Application Load Balancers (ALBs), Route 53, EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC, Azure Functions, Secrets Manager, etc. Familiarity with container orchestration platforms and container security best practices. Ability to work in Agile environments and collaborate across disciplines in fast-paced teams. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience supporting DoD or other federal cloud migrations or deployments. Knowledge of DoD compliance frameworks (e.g., Impact Level 5/6 (IL5/6), RMF, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP . Experience with OpenShift or hybrid edge/cloud environments. Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator, Azure Administrator, Red Hat OpenShift (EX280), or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA). Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Zabbix, Grafana, Amazon CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor. Citizenship and Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required. Active Secret clearance required. TS/SCI preferred. Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000.
