The Cloud Architect will oversee the company's EEG products' cloud infrastructure. The individual will be responsible for managing security, daily operations, and improvements in the cloud.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Cloud Strategy Development: Assist with redefining the organization's cloud strategy, including selecting the appropriate cloud provider, migration roadmap, and cost optimization plans.
- Cloud Architecture Design: Designing and implementing cloud architectures for applications, considering scalability, performance, and security requirements.
- Cloud Migration Management: When necessary, leading the migration of existing applications and data to the cloud, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
- Cloud Cost Optimization: Monitoring cloud usage, identifying cost inefficiencies, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Cloud Operations Management: Managing day-to-day cloud operations, including monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system availability.
- Security and Compliance: Implementing robust cloud security practices, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and corporate cyber security policies, and managing access controls.
- Vendor Management: Managing relationships with cloud providers, negotiating contracts, and staying updated on new cloud services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a regulated industry managing cloud-based applications and servers
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Knowledge of Microsoft failover clustering is an advantage
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as Azure Stack HCI or Hyper-V, is an advantage
- MCP certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA, SOC2, ISO, and GDPR requirements a plus
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms: Extensive knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) including their services, features, and best practices.
- Cloud architecture design skills: Ability to design scalable and resilient cloud architectures for complex applications.
- Cloud/Cyber security expertise: Knowledge of cloud security best practices, threat modeling, and compliance requirements.
- Infrastructure management skills: Experience managing virtual networks, storage, databases, and other cloud infrastructure components.
- Automation skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating cloud tasks.
- Project management skills: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor cloud migration projects.
- Strong communication and leadership skills: Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and lead teams through cloud initiatives.
- Ability to travel. Up to 20% of the time, including limited international travel.
