PCOM , in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates , invites applications and nominations for the position of Clinical Teaching Faculty-Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM) at the PCOM South Georgia Campus in Moultrie, GA. PCOM South Georgia seeks a highly qualified and passionate clinical educator with the expectation of teaching lectures and skills laboratory sessions. The ideal candidate will be detail focused and exhibit excellent follow-through, follow-up and thoroughness of projects and tasks. Under the direction of the chair of OPP, faculty will participate in the clinical education of medical students, off-campus residency programs, and clinical lectures with an online system as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lectures and laboratory sessions for students in all four years of the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with faculty on test question development and review, curriculum development, learning objectives and lecture delivery.
  • Contribute to the education of osteopathic medical students, graduate students, interns and residents through classroom teaching, small group facilitation, as well as, one-on-one outside the classroom setting.
  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and faculty committees.
  • Participate in professional and scientific meetings to further individual knowledge and to contribute to the development of other professionals.
  • Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical knowledge.
  • Communicate evaluations to the student and the administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
  • Participate in the OPP lecture and laboratory series by serving as course director/facilitator as assigned.
  • Assume responsibilities as assigned which may include site visits, faculty development, course evaluation and direction of junior faculty, osteopathic manipulative medicine scholars, or clinicians.
  • Partner with leadership of the South Georgia Campus, PCOM by reviewing test questions, volunteering for club activities and committee activities as assigned.
  • Develop interprofessional education programming and clinical reasoning in basic science cases.
  • Serve as a student mentor/advisor in career planning, study skills development and board examination preparation.
  • May conduct clinical lectures with off-campus residency programs.
  • May conduct clinical lectures with an online system as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)
  • Board certification/eligibility in the designated specialty
  • Active medical license in good standing
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent and related ONMM experience
  • Understanding of Osteopathic Principles and Practice in medicine
  • Experience in classroom teaching and working with osteopathic medical students in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Learning Management Systems such as BlackBoard
  • Experience with video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, and BlackBoard Collaborate
  • ONMM or NMM/OMM strongly preferred
