The Triage Nurse is responsible for providing timely and accurate triage to patients experiencing acute illness utilizing triage database and clinical experience to prioritize and advise patients as to the appropriate disposition and course of action. Documents patient specific information in addition to triage guidance and communicates with provider. Current certification as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant is required. Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse must have 1-year clinical experience. MA must have at least 2-years clinical experience, at least 1 being in a clinical role with ESRH. Individual must be energetic, flexible and self-motivated with strong attention to detail, communication, teamwork, customer service and computer skills. This position also requires a person with the ability to use clinical assessment skills and perception to determine the needs of the patient while working with the medical provider. Must maintain current CPR for all life cycles and CEU credits required for licensure. Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills. Employee must demonstrate an understanding of the intent, and follow standards, guidelines and protocols related to achieving and maintaining certifications by outside agencies. Must demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to Eastern Shore Rural Health and its Mission Statement. Ability to provide bilingual patient care is a plus.
