Clinical Research Nurse
Must Haves: Must have an active RN license in the state of Illinois, must have blood draw and infusion experience.
Hours: 40 hours per week, normal business hours, hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote depending on the study).
Contract Duration: contract-to-hire

Job Overview
The Research Nurse, under supervision, is responsible for supporting the integrity and quality of clinical research studies. This role involves assisting in the development, execution, and monitoring of data collection, tracking, analysis, and reporting to ensure the success of research programs. The Research Nurse ensures that all research activities comply with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, federal and sponsor regulations, institutional policies, and study protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes professional nursing judgment when independently carrying out research nursing activities
- Integrates evidence-based practices into day-to-day nursing care
- Plans, supports, and manages clinical research activities, ensuring accurate task execution and documentation
- Assists in the planning and implementation of new protocols for clinical research studies
- Helps develop and maintain relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Designs and implements strategies to enhance participant recruitment and retention
- Identifies and pursues opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Assesses patient care needs and applies critical thinking skills to patient management
- Provides safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while identifying and addressing challenges and areas for improvement
- Actively participates in and contributes to study team meetings
- Serves as a key resource within the department for clinical trials operations
- Stays informed about current state and federal research regulations and guidelines
- Recommends necessary updates to policies and procedures based on changes in regulations
- Manages project prioritization to meet the needs of stakeholders, including medical and scientific leadership, principal investigators, research lab staff, clinical trial staff, and investigators, while maintaining strong relationships
- Ensures ongoing training and compliance with complex state and federal regulatory requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or higher
- Must have blood draw and infusion experience
