Clinical Research Fellow in Uro-Oncology
A one-year fellowship has been created to allow the successful candidate to gain clinical and research experience in Uro-Oncology. The emphasis will be on technological advances in Radiation Oncology, including advanced radiotherapy techniques such as intensity modulated radiotherapy, MR-Linac guided image radiotherapy, and brachytherapy. Opportunities include involvement in phase I-III systemic therapy trials and original research projects. Main duties of the job
This position is aimed at individuals seeking specialist training in advanced radiotherapy research. Candidates must have a FRCR qualification or equivalent and will support Uro-Oncology clinics and bladder and prostate cancer research within the Radiotherapy Related Research Group in the Clinical Oncology department, working 40 hours per week.
About us
The Uro-Oncology team comprises 10 Consultants, 2 Sub-specialty Trainees, 2 Clinical Fellows, supported by 4 Clinical Nurse Specialists. The team is dedicated to high-quality, patient-centered care and actively engages in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinics, and inpatient care. The Urology Research team includes Clinical Research Nurses, Trial Coordinators, research radiographers, and access to a NIHR Clinical Research Facility. The Radiotherapy Related Research Group is internationally recognized for its work in RT immunology, radiobiology, biomarkers, pre-clinical studies, physics, and computational oncology, with ambitions to lead Phase I-III clinical trials using state-of-the-art radiotherapy and imaging technologies.
Job responsibilities
The role involves supporting Uro-Oncology clinics, participating in bladder and prostate cancer research, and gaining experience in advanced radiotherapy techniques. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, protocol development, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, protocol writing, ethics submissions, clinical trial management, patient counseling, data management, and dissemination of research findings through publications and conferences. The fellow will also review clinical data, plan studies, and attend educational meetings.

Role Planning
