Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Clinical Operations is accountable and responsible for coordination of department/function activities to ensure delivery of quality patient care in a safe and therapeutic environment. The Director provides effective leadership that supports the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the organization and its values. This role manages department operations to include staff schedule, staff productivity, resource utilization and expense management to ensure quality patient care and to achieve maximum financial performance. The Director oversees the duties of Bed Management, Float Pool staff, House Supervisors, IV Therapy, Wound Care, and utilization of contract labor. What qualifications you will need: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing required; Master's Degree preferred Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS required ACLS and PALS certifications preferred Previous clinical management experience required What you will do in this role: Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures, mandatory requirements, and licensure, and certification requirements. Maintain responsibility for effective utilization of staffing to ensure proper staffing levels. Ensure quality of patient care and assist in patient care as necessary. Support House Supervisor by responding to campus emergencies, RRT, Code situations and assist as needed. Responsible for all staffing needs and personnel management including interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and training of staff. Ensure timely patient throughput in a safe and effective manner. Coordinate activities that expedite patient flow. Ensure 24-hour coverage for House Supervisor. Conduct routine staff meetings and Leader Rounding on Employees. Ensure competence of department personnel who provide patient care. Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of departmental staff. Provide leadership and direction for assigned staff. Ensure adequate orientation and validation of competency for staff and ensures successful completion. Communicate and interact in a professional manner that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff, or patient issues. Demonstrate interdepartmental support and teamwork through a supportive and collaborative approach. TriStar Summit is a 200 bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center. We offer a full array of acute care services.
