Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team. This position requires a professional with at least five years of experience in a hospital laboratory setting, now seeking to broaden their impact in a reference lab environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures during the graveyard shift from 11 PM to 7 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
- Process and analyze specimens, interpreting and recording test results, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment and instruments used in quantitative and qualitative analysis, such as spectrophotometers, calorimeters, flame photometers, and computer-controlled analyzers.
- Identify abnormal or atypical test results and follow appropriate corrective procedures to address such findings.
- Maintain and update professional knowledge and proficiency through continuing education, staff meetings, workshops, and participation in professional groups.
- Adhere to established laboratory safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new testing procedures to enhance lab efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and departments to ensure seamless lab operations and high-quality patient care.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior laboratory staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Valid certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist from a recognized certifying agency (ASCP).
- Minimum of five years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably in a hospital lab setting.
- Proficient in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and understanding of quality control principles and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, particularly during non-standard hours.
