Clinical Genetics 2025 Posting
The clinical genetics team includes 4 Medical Geneticists, 12 genetic counselors, 2 nurses, 3 metabolic dieticians, and other support staff. The successful candidate's clinical responsibilities will include outpatient clinics and the inpatient consultation service, but the exact nature of the clinical effort can be modified based on the applicant's interests.
The UAB Medical Genetics Training programs has 7 residents distributed among four training tracks - Categorical Medical Genetics, Pediatrics- Medical Genetics, Internal Medicine- Medical Genetics, and Maternal Fetal Medicine-Medical Genetics. In addition, we provide medical genetics education for the School of Medicine, Graduate program, Genetic Counseling Training program, other health professionals, researchers and the public.
The Department of Genetics is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of faculty focused on performing basic laboratory and clinical research.
