The Sovereignty Project Clinical Fellow is a two-year position designed for lawyers with experience in American Indian law or other relevant experience who are interested in preparing for a career in federal Indian law practice or Indian law clinical teaching. The Clinical Fellow will coordinate the activities of the NYU-Yale Sovereignty Project and will be based at NYU School of Law in Greenwich Village, NY.

Under the supervision of the Sovereignty Projects faculty directors and in concert with the Yale Research Fellow, the Clinical Fellow will co-supervise work on the Native Briefing Project and coordinate with Center partners, including the Native American Rights Funds Tribal Supreme Court Project, the National Congress of American Indians, and the Supreme Court Practice at Jenner & Block. The Native Briefing Project submits amicus briefs in the federal circuit courts and the Supreme Court, as well as provides expert advice for litigators and organizations nationwide.

The Fellow will participate in the planning and coordination of the Sovereignty Project, including the development of courses and curriculum and the selection of cases for tracking and briefing. Fellow may have the opportunity to teach or co-teach a course.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $65,000.
