About the Role:The Clinical Nurse Educator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the clinical expertise of nursing staff within our psychiatric hospital. This position involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and training sessions that promote evidence-based practices in psychiatric nursing. You will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team in clinical education to provide education to nurses, behavioral health technicians, social workers, and other members of our workforce to offer trauma-informed, evidenced-based, quality training
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical setting
- Experience in designing and delivering educational programs
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Licensure: Current RN VT Licensure.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in psychiatric or mental health settings; previous experience in education or training roles is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and proficiency in educational technologies and adult learning principles.
Responsibilities:- Education and Training: Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff, focusing on psychiatric nursing practices, patient safety, and therapeutic communication.
- Clinical Support: Provide clinical support and guidance to nurses in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital policies.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback and outcome measurements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote a collaborative approach to patient care and staff development.
- Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, fostering professional growth and encouraging lifelong learning.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development and revision of nursing policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Stay current with the latest research in psychiatric nursing and incorporate evidence-based practices into educational offerings.
- Leadership: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of a culture of safety and excellence within the hospital.
