Overview Kelemen 10 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients who have various needs and disease processes. Both North and South 10 have Telemetry capabilities for our patients. Each side houses 36 patients to a maximum of 72 patients. South 10 has a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit embedded within the 36-bed unit. INCU has critically care-trained RNs who support the patient's needs and care for ventilated patients. South 10 also has 2 negative pressure isolation rooms with an anti-room that is used when needed for specific isolation needs. We do multidisciplinary rounds Monday - Friday. This involves the patient in their care and allows the team members to collaborate with the patient to give them the best possible care and appropriate discharge to home or other facilities. We have a pharmacist who has an office on the unit to assist the RNs when needed to help avoid delay of care to any patient. Short Description Direct responsibility for the daily operations of assigned department(s); including but not limited to: overseeing daily practice operations, recruitment, retention, adherence to policies and procedures, support ongoing education of staff, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and responsible for fiscal responsibility of unit/department. Experience Required 3- 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership abilities. 6-10 years preferred. Requires strong planning skills and a solid understanding of Patient and Family Centered Care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Education Requirements Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing. BSN required. MSN preferred License/Certification Requirements Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification. National certification preferred within area of specialty for critical care, operating room, endoscopy and trauma. Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS). Certification within specialty area preferred (CCRN, CMSRN, CNOR, CEN, PCCN, CNML,NE-BC )
