Shaw Healthcare is recruiting a Deputy Manager for Cartref Cleddau Care Home in Pembroke Dock to deliver quality care and support to our service users in line with our care principles of 'wellness, happiness, and kindness'. You will work with colleagues to meet the physical, social, psychological, and emotional needs of our service users.

Cartref Cleddau is a 24-bed residential care home providing care for individuals with mental health conditions.

Location: Fort Rd, Pembroke Dock SA72 6SX

Hours: 37.5 hours, including 18 hours as a nurse on shift.

Main Responsibilities

Essential Skills & Duties of a Deputy Manager:

  • Good knowledge of CIW/CQC standards and the Health and Social Care Act 2008
  • Developing and implementing evidence-based, individualized care packages, therapeutic interventions, and activity programmes
  • Leading and supervising support and nursing teams to deliver person-centered care using clinical governance and personal development
  • Managing sickness, staff training, development, coaching, and mentoring; effective communication within the team
  • Engaging effectively with service users, families, and colleagues; strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding disabilities and health/social care needs; assisting with mobility and continence needs using aids and equipment
  • Providing care to meet personal hygiene needs (washing, dressing, bathing, toileting)
  • Ensuring health and safety for service users and colleagues
The Ideal Candidate
  • Nurse qualified
  • Previous Deputy Manager experience
  • Experience supporting the elderly
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered care
  • Ability to assess needs and develop care plans to enhance residents' lives
  • Delivering high standards of care and promoting residents' wellbeing
