We are looking for a Clinical Coordinator to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health.
What You'll Do:
The Clinical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of a BSN, designated to facilitate the functioning of the department, under the direction of the Inpatient Director. The Clinical Coordinator is directly responsible for coordinating care for the Inpatient populations. The Clinical Coordinator demonstrates excellent clinical skills and acts as a resource to the staff. He/she actively leads staff in the performance of their daily activities and participates in their performance reviews, as well as coaching and counseling when appropriate. In collaboration with the Inpatient Director, holds staff accountable for the delivery of care and services through effective communication, observation, and the management and measurement of specific interventions/practices and their associated outcomes. This key leader plays a significant role in assisting the Director in achieving clinical and financial goals along with management of human/material resources as delegated. He/she also plays a pivotal role in staff recruitment, mentoring, and retention. He/she models the way to foster teamwork and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments. This includes performing nursing duties in patient care assignments (as aligned with training and experience by level of care), charge nurse, and rounding nurse roles as needed to ensure quality patient care and safe staffing ratios. Assists with the overall operations of the Inpatient Departments, under the direction of the Inpatient Director including, but not limited to policy and procedure development, scheduling, staffing, departmental statistics, payroll, productivity reporting, key result measurements, mandated employee training and competencies. Actively supports customer service and survey initiatives; serves as point of care for daily operations, elevating issues to Director as appropriate; rounds on patients and staff to improve customer service and employee morale; a champion for department specific education, creates and maintains a successful work environment as exhibited by Director observation and in employee opinion surveys. Plans, monitors, and evaluates ongoing quality and appropriateness of patient care; suggests areas for system improvement within Nursing Services, leads improvement teams; plans services in response to identified community needs; ensures compliance with regulatory services; performs department specific medical record audits to ensure documentation compliance. Reviews literature for current developments to promote evidence-based nursing practice; uses nursing theory to develop a philosophy and framework for providing nursing care; consistently projects positive professional image through appearance and behavior; helps with marketing initiatives as needed to grow service line and increase volumes. Collaborates with physicians to improve efficiencies of processes, staff education, and patient flow. Responds to emergencies outside normal working hours. Serves as Administrator On Call as assigned. Exhibits behaviors reflective of Memorial's core values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements. Maintain necessary requirements to fulfill license requirements. Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's and department's Ethics and Compliance program and is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer, or the hospital hotline. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current registration in the State of Ohio; two (2) years of supervisory nursing experience in the specialty of assignment with knowledge of the nursing process. Licensed as an RN in the State of Ohio; completes twenty-four (24) contact hours of approved CE during each two (2) year licensure renewal period consistent with requirements of Ohio Board of Nursing. Maintains continuous certification in American Heart Association's BLS. Attains American Heart Association's PALS and ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire and maintains bi-annual certification.
