Job Description Serve as a resource and assist in the development and delivery of innovative collaborative practice pharmaceutical care services at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Inpatient Medicine Co-funded position between Providence Alaska Medical Center (0.5 FTE) and ISU Doctor of Pharmacy Program (0.5 FTE) Reporting to the Chair, ISU Department of Pharmacy Practice & Pharmacy Clinical Manager at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Key Responsibilities Patient care and professional responsibilities (50%): Provide clinical coverage for the inpatient family medicine team, clinical consults for drug selection and dosing, pharmacokinetics, medication reconciliation, discharge counseling, etc. Other clinical and consulting activities may include: antimicrobial stewardship, medication use evaluations, staff development, participation in P&T committee, or other committee's as needed Provide preceptor development for Providence staff Provide didactic and experiential teaching to PharmD and related health profession discipline (40%): Maintain an exemplary adult general medicine pharmacy practice site for IPPE/APPE education at Providence Precept a maximum of 10 fourth-year pharmacy (P-4) students for APPEs (clerkships) annually Precept a maximum of 10 second/third-year IPPE students annually Precept a maximum of 10 pharmacy residents (PGY-1 or PGY-2) annually 1 to 2 (8-week sections) of case studies per year - (3 hours per week) Provide didactic, lab and small group teaching in the professional Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum Provide Course Coordination and other teaching responsibilities as assigned by department chair(s) Academic member of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Admin. Sci. (10%): Serve as a role model practitioner/educator in the didactic and experiential components of the PharmD program Serve on assigned University, College, and Departmental committees commensurate with a non-tenure track, clinical faculty position (approximately 5%) Develop and maintain an active scholarship program, commensurate with a non-tenure track, clinical faculty position (approximately 5%) Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair Minimum Qualifications Pharm.D. or BS degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy Ability to be licensed as a registered pharmacist in Alaska Minimum of one year of residency or specialty residency or equivalent experience Evidence of effective teaching Evidence of clinical scholarship Preferred Qualifications PGY1 in pharmacy practice PGY-2 in Internal Medicine or Pharmacotherapy Work experience in inpatient medicine on an academic teaching team Board Certification Experiential teaching experience Additional Information You must submit your CV/resume, cover letter, and list of three (3) professional references, including current contact information.
