Description: Position Summary: The Clinic Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs nuclear medicine procedures while applying principles of radiation protection and compliance with regulations. This position evaluates radiographs to maintain quality and injects radioisotopes, Lexiscan, Persantine and Dobutamine.
Hours Schedule:- Full-time, 40 hours/ week

What the Clinic Nuclear Medicine Technologist will do:- Performs nuclear medicine procedures as ordered by a physician to include graded exercise testing and nuclear imaging.
- Assists in the transfer of the patient to and from a wheelchair to imaging table if needed and positions patients for the proper view of the heart.
- Selects appropriate images of the heart and related structures for the physician to interpret per Clinic protocol.
- Processes images on computers and organizes paperwork, including office and three hospitals.
- Orders isotope. Checks in and out radioactive doses; draws up doses.
- Reviews patients' charts for the next day.
- Performs quality control on cameras and hot lab equipment (daily and weekly). Provides preventive maintenance to equipment. Alertsservice to any problems promptly.
- Starts IVs and knows how to set and maintain IV pump. Runs treadmill when needed.
- Follows proper disposal of radioactive waste and quarterly sharps pick up.
- Changes film badges quarterly.
- Assists in scheduling patients appropriately.
- Maintains continuing medical education (CME) through approved journals, books, seminars and conferences as required by ICANL.
What the Clinic Nuclear Medicine Technologist will need:- Certified or certification eligible as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) and/or licensure from Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (CNMT).
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Graduate of nuclear medicine program preferred.
- BLS certification within first three months of employment. ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of one year's experience directly related to Nuclear Medicine.
- Ability to lift, carry and/or push/pull up to twenty pounds unassisted.
