Client Service Leader - Municipal Water Services

Location: Texas, Dallas or Houston

Travel: 10%


Our client, a leading engineering and consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Client Service Leader to drive client engagement and business development within the municipal water sector. With a strong legacy spanning a long time in Texas. our client has successfully delivered some of the region's most significant infrastructure projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage existing client relationships while strategically expanding business opportunities across private, municipal, and state agency clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute client engagement strategies and pursuit plans for water, wastewater, and environmental projects across Texas.
  • Align firm-wide strategies with local business development initiatives.
  • Oversee the financial performance of projects within an assigned client portfolio.
  • Act as a highly visible advocate for the firm by participating in industry and professional organizations.
  • Lead and coordinate client and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage proposal efforts and presentations to secure new business.
  • Implement and leverage sales processes and tools to drive business growth.
  • Negotiate critical aspects of client engagements, teaming partnerships, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Develop technical approaches and strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Support individual projects while meeting billable hour targets.
  • Achieve annual sales goals through both existing and new client relationships.
  • Manage business development budgets and associated costs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, business units, and client service leaders to meet overall business objectives.
  • Adhere to and implement standardized business practices.
  • Participate in the company's training programs to reinforce core competencies and obtain relevant certifications within six months of onboarding.
  • Uphold the firm's core values in all aspects of the role.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in municipal water, wastewater, or related engineering services.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed (approximately 10%).
  • Equivalent, directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in securing and managing water/wastewater projects within the Texas market.
  • Strong existing client relationships in the Texas water sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational, and listening skills.
