Client Accounting Services Accountant
As a Client Accounting Services Accountant, you will work directly with clients to prepare financial statements that help owners and managers achieve their operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Accounting:
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Generate and analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Document work effectively and comprehensively.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve client and engagement issues in a timely and organized manner.
- Apply knowledge of accrual and cash basis accounting principles.
Payroll & Sales Tax Compliance:
- Understand and apply Iowa sales and use tax regulations.
- File monthly sales tax returns accurately and on time.
- Maintain general knowledge of Federal, State, and Unemployment payroll taxes.
- Record and manage monthly payroll entries.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and collaboration.
Technology and Process Development:
- Utilize strong computer and software skills to enhance efficiency.
- Learn and adapt to new software, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
General Skills:
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Manage multiple priorities and complete projects within established deadlines.
Ideal Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
