DescriptionReporting to the Director of Residential Life, the Part-Time Clerk provides clerical support to the Office of Residence Life. This position is not scheduled to work during the week of the universities spring break and one week during January session as determined by the academic calendar. This position will work up to 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performs receptionist duties including greeting and announcing all visitors in the department.
- Answers telephone calls and routes calls to staff members or takes messages.
- Responsible for receiving, logging, and tracking mail, packages and flowers and contacting recipients for pick up.
- Must be able to utilize University student database including Ellucian Banner, StarRez and Connect to assist in routing calls and answering questions.
- May perform other assigned duties not specifically identified above but which require the same degree of skill and are normally included within the above job description.
Hours: Monday through Friday 10am to 2pm.
Subject to bumping
Qualifications - Excellent telephone, communication and customer service skills required.
- Must demonstrate cultural competence and the ability to work with students from diverse populations.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook.
- Weekend hours required during peak periods.

Salary/Salary Range $16.49 per hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
