Lexington Parks a Recreation is seeking a part-time Pottery Instructor to teach beginner hand-building and wheel throwing classes.
The ideal candidate will have experience in ceramics, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a welcoming, supportive environment for new and existing students. Responsibilities include demonstrating techniques, offering one-on-one assistance, maintaining a safe studio, and ensuring students understand pottery equipment and safety protocols. A proficiency in hand-building and wheel throwing, and a creative, patient approach is essential. A background in teaching is helpful but not required. Experience with kiln firing and glazing is also a plus.
- Minimum age: 22 years old
- Pay Rate: starts at $16.56 per hour
- Schedule: Part time season - September - May. Evenings and weekends required.
