A Global Government Contracting Company is seeking multiple Linux System Administrators to join their team in San Diego, CA. This role is 100% onsite In this role, you will be joining a team supporting customers, designing, implementing, and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements. In this role, you will build, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers and NetApp Storage hardware and software; design and implement workgroup-scale networks; build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. You will work with cyber security staff to develop and apply hardening steps for systems for classified use to ICD-503 security controls, and other customer standards. Document system configuration for new and existing systems. Experience with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains in supporting (Windows/Linux) cross-platform clients is desirable. Additional responsibilities may include:
Proactively maintain and develop all infrastructure technology to maintain necessary uptime service Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various operational and project needs Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all managed environments Fault finding, analysis and logging information for reporting and resolving performance exceptions Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, storage and network hardware
Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
Candidate must have a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Typically, a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology Strong problem solving and communication skills. Security+ Certification or the ability to get certification within 6 months of hiring Knowledge of multiple specialties such as operating systems, storage technologies and peripherals, including working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems administration (5 years)
Experience integrating Linux with Windows Active Directory Familiarity with VMWare and virtualization concepts Shell, Perl, and/or PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS and LDAP Ability to use verbal and written communication skills to present information to a diverse population (technical and non-technical). Ability to work well as a member of a team and independently. Experience with operating system update services such as YUM or DNF and RedHat Satellite. Knowledge of the following technologies: Ansible modules and Trellix Anti-Virus Preferred skills:
NetApp Cluster administration experience Experience with NetBackup administration or other backup technologies Experience with implementing Ansible modules and configuration management with Git. Experience with administration of enterprise level Windows Server operating environments, including Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DNS and DHCP . Must have Linux Skills:
