JOB DESCRIPTION:
With over 200 years in business, wood is in our blood at J. Gibson McIlvain. As it was in the late 18th century, it is the same today. At J. Gibson Mcilvain we run a full millwork at our Lumber Yard in White Marsh, MD. We are actively seeking new employees as our business expands. Qualified applicants should have experience working in a lumber yard but it is not required.
ESSTENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Operates forklift and other material handling equipment to pick, load, unload and store materials in the yard.
- Performs customer deliveries utilizing Class A equipment
- Provides customer service
- Position requires heavy lifting
REQUIRMENTS:
- 3 years' related experience is preferred.
- The position offers paid training on safe driving and product handling specific to the Lumber industry.
- All Trucks are leased and properly maintained.
- At this time all of our trucks are 15 speed manuals.
- The longest Trailer is 48' with an average weight of 80,000 lbs.
- Mostly East Coast Deliveries. Must be willing to work 1 to 2 overnights per week. Home every weekend.
- Pre-employment DoT Physical, background check, and drug screen are required, as is a good driving record.
- Forklift experience a plus, but not a requirement
- Experience in handling building materials is a plus
- The preferred candidate will have a clean and valid Class A CDL license
- Final applicant must comply with USDOT testing requirements
- Successful completion of application process
- Pre-Employment Drug Screening and Background check required.
- Basic knowledge of general labor and safe work practices.
