Position Overview:
We are looking for someone who can assist our customers when they need us the most. As a Material Damage Claims Representative 2, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and bring Material Damage claims to a final resolution. You will handle claims for both first party and third-party claimants, including, but not limited to, liability investigations and damage assignments.
Responsibilities include:
- Promptly and effectively handling to conclusion all assigned claims in accordance with prescribed authorization and claims best practices.
- Making decisions within delegated authority as outlined in company policies and procedures.
- Initiating and conducting follow-ups via proficient use of claims systems and related business systems.
- Verifying proper policy coverages and applies best claims practices to conclude assigned cases in accordance with company guidelines. Adhering to high standards of professional conduct while providing delivery of superior claims service.
- Opening, closing, and adjusting reserves and payments in accordance with company practices designed to ensure reserve adequacy.
- Maintaining current knowledge of guidelines in the claims function, policy changes and modifications, and relevant laws and regulations in the states in which GIA does business.
- Partners with other groups to identify fraud and recovery opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency in claims adjustment with a proven track record of effectively managing and resolving insurance claims.
- Proven experience in delivering exceptional customer service with a commitment to upholding our customer value proposition. This includes a proactive approach, a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to anticipate and address customer needs.
- Familiarity with or a keen ability to quickly grasp auto insurance contracts and policies.
- Inquisitive mindset to investigate and comprehend the circumstances surrounding accidents, delving into the responsibilities of involved parties and potential breaches.
- Strong analytical skills essential for decision-making and conflict resolution, including the application of coverage to submitted claims, understanding jurisdictional laws, and interpreting policy exclusions and exceptions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational proficiency to prioritize tasks and manage workloads efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
