Gpac has partnered with a company in the DMV area looking to add an experienced Civil Estimator.


Responsibilities:


  • Utilize expertise in Civil Engineering to accurately estimate project costs for Heavy Highway and Road construction ventures.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of project requirements, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop detailed cost proposals and bid documents.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform cost estimations and maintain competitive pricing.
  • Evaluate alternative construction methods and materials to optimize cost-efficiency and project feasibility.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations to assess project scope and requirements accurately.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven track record as a Civil Estimator in Heavy Highway and Road construction, with 5-10 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex project specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, cost control principles, and regulatory requirements related to Heavy Highway and Road construction.
