Civil Engineer

Location: Tewksbury, MA & various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Position Title: Civil Engineer (GAI01) Job Description: Roadway/site design work, including designing complex site layout, utilities, grading, materials, water mains, stormwater systems, sanitary sewer systems, and construction details per MassDOT, RIDOT, MWRA, BWSC, standards and regulations. Design pipe alignments and profiles for water mains, stormwater systems, and sanitary sewer systems in busy urban settings, and conducting advanced hydrologic & hydraulic modeling using various engineering softwares for various municipal, state, and institutional site projects in accordance with applicable standards and specifications. Conduct critical onsite field observations and provide expert analysis for utility work including water, drainage, and wastewater construction projects, review contractor shop drawings, and perform Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections where an EPA Site Inspector Certification with EPAs Construction General Permit is required. Lead utility coordination efforts with multiple companies and agencies to request record information, plotting utility data from record drawings and field surveys, and preparing existing condition plans and also preparing detailed engineering quantities and cost estimates in accordance with applicable MassDOT and RIDOT specifications and using the Weighted Average Bid tables. Carry out topographic field surveys using Leica and Topcon Manual/Robotic Total stations and GPS units and also perform Manhole inspections and generate reports. Travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the Northeast Region of the U.S. for long- and short-term assignments at client sites. Multiple Positions Available. Job Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering with Fundamental of Engineering (FE) Certification, and 5 years of civil engineering experience or related experience with; AutoCAD Civil 3D , H&H softwares (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HydraFlow Storm Sewers), MassDOT, RIDOT, BWSC and MWRA design standards and specifications, Design of stormwater control measures floodplain management; and Topographic surveying and reconnaissance.
