Title:
CIS Conversion Project Manager
Location:
Regional - Based in a major metropolitan area with a hybrid work arrangement (minimum three days on-site per week)
Description:
The CIS Conversion Project Manager is responsible for delivering strategic IT investments as part of an organizational transformation program. This role oversees conversion workstreams within a Customer Information System (CIS) solution implementation that supports customer service and billing operations. The successful candidate will lead both internal teams and external vendors to ensure that conversion activities and data validation processes are executed effectively and efficiently. Key responsibilities include planning and managing project resources, tracking performance against timelines and budgets, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation to communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders. Collaboration with business users, IT peers, technology vendors, and industry experts is essential to deploy innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency in customer service, billing, accounting, finance, and risk management.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years of experience in a business and technical environment or over 10 years of relevant experience
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) conversion projects, with a strong understanding of data conversion processes, testing, and reporting/analytics
At least 5-10 years of proven experience as an IT project manager in a matrix environment, working effectively with internal teams and external vendors
Expertise in project management methodologies-including waterfall, agile, and hybrid approaches-and a solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage project dependencies, critical paths, and evolving scopes
Experience managing complex technical implementations that involve multiple integrations between cloud-based and legacy systems (e.g., point-to-point, middleware, real-time, and batch processes)
Proficiency with project management tools, collaboration software, issue tracking systems, and document management systems
Desired Skills:
Graduate degree in Information Systems or a related discipline
Additional project management certifications or training (e.g., PMI certification/training)
Experience leading projects in a matrix environment
Experience in regulated utility or energy sector operations is a plus
