Reporting to the Technical Services Head Librarian, this role is responsible for preserving and promoting all circulating Crowell Library resources, ensuring quality customer service in a timely manner, guaranteeing accessibility of materials, maintaining accurate records, protecting the collection from abuse, loss, theft, or misplacement as well as other duties as assigned.

- Responsible for quality customer service in a timely manner including:
- Oversight, compliance and maintenance of reserve collection, including compliance with reserve faculty service guidelines, filling requests, evaluating the reserve collection and adding and removing resources as needed.
- Oversight, compliance and maintenance of all circulation policies, procedures and practices
- Supervises the Circulation Services team as follows:
- Under the guidance of the Public Services Librarian, hires trains, develops, evaluates and supervises all Circulation staff
- Assists in assessing the viability of all student and non-student worker positions
- Plans & organizes student worker orientations, trainings and other related special functions
- Responsible for working with key components of Integrated Library System (ILS) service functions and other systems/protocol such as the following:
- Delivery of circulation, patron records, overdue notification, lost and damaged books, fines, fees, statistics and other data mining requests.
- Supervise the receipt of various related revenues such as book sales, fines and fees
- Maintain the integrity of the collection through various special projects such as audit/inventories, shifting and reallocation of resources as well as anti-theft and security measures.
- In collaboration with the Public Services Librarian, assesses and monitors library service hours, recommending to Public Services Head Librarian hours of opening
- Collaborates with public services librarian to produce and display customer service signage.
- Oversee the daily operations of lending and borrowing of I-Share materials
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements- One year completed toward BA degree or 2-3 years commensurate library/supervisory experience
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and computer skills
- Proven accuracy and consistent focus on a high level of detail
- Successful track record as flexible team player with demonstrated ability to work with others
- Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship.
Preferred Requirements- Four-year undergraduate degree with academic Bible background
- Library team experience in an academic setting

Operates in standard library work environment with ILS Platform and supporting IT infrastructure. The normal schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional weekend possible. This role is expected onsite at our Chicago location four days a week, telecommuting on the other day.
