Circulation Clerk 1
Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch in High Ridge, MO
Scheduling:
Part time - 24 hours per week (firm)
One to two evenings and two Saturdays per month
Paid holidays, and vacation time
Circulation Clerks are responsible for assigned duties related to the daily operations of the Circulation Department, including but not limited to:
- Connecting patrons with materials, programs, library resources, and other library staff as needed to fulfill the community's needs.
- Conducting daily collection maintenance such as checking in items and reshelving them.
- Answering phones promptly and directing calls through a multi-line phone system.
- Maintaining a high level of front-line customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilizing a variety of software applications and equipment to provide a comprehensive customer service experience to our patrons. Training is provided for library-specific software.
- Fostering a friendly work environment based on strong communication skills with coworkers and the public.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Prior customer service experience is a plus.
- Must pass a criminal records check.
