JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate Continuous Improvement Leader to join our dynamic team. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and maintain lean manufacturing and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Coordinate lean manufacturing/Kaizen events.
  • Establish results targets and timelines for each area.
  • Continuously refine knowledge of lean manufacturing and deploy in all facets of the facility.
  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping processes throughout the organization.
  • Teach and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts
  • Facilitate the updating of procedures and work instructions to reflect newly implemented practices.
  • Coach, motivate, and lead the teams to institute methods for sustaining the gains of each activity.
  • Stress cost reduction with minimum investment. Project plans to include cost reduction targets.
  • Keep safety and quality as primary concerns during planning and implementation phases of improvement activities
  • Steer site level productivity projects and administer project accounting.
  • Interact with various departments, at all levels of the organization, to foster and achieve continuous improvement objectives.
  • Occasional travel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A four-year degree with an emphasis in operations, engineering, or business and/or commensurate experience
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment implementing cost reductions, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement concepts.
  • LSS Green or Belt Certification desired
  • A record of success managing projects encompassing multiple functions and disciplines. Proficient with project management tools, ie: Gantt Charts, Pareto Analysis, establishing timelines, and reporting progress to plan.
  • Must have value stream mapping experience and fully understand the process
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Working conditions are normal for an office and/or site workshop or warehousing facility. The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet, however sites can be unpredictable and associated safety equipment should be worn accordingly.
