The Company:

An established supplier of childrenswear to the high street is looking for an experienced Designer to join their busy team. Candidates should have a background in childrenswear and babywear, working with both boys' and girls' products, and be either graphic design or styling led.

The Role:
  • Designing childrenswear/babywear for ages 0 years and upwards, for both boys and girls.
  • Stay up-to-date with babywear trends.
  • Maintain a high standard of design within the brief.
  • Coordinate with the sales and Technical teams to ensure designs and fits meet specifications and costs.
  • Analyze sales feedback to develop best-selling designs.
  • Create and send sample requests, line drawings, style details, and artwork to factories.
  • Provide factories with clear details and accurate artwork.
  • Manage license portal websites, including concept, strike-offs, and sample uploads.
  • Check and approve initial samples, strike-offs, lab dips, trim cards, and PP samples.
  • Attend weekly meetings with suppliers and licensors.
  • Conduct regular store visits.
  • Manage accounts with high street retailers and supermarkets.
  • Oversee critical paths.
  • Liaise with factories in the Far East to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
  • Present ideas to clients and buying teams.
  • Prepare briefs, technical packs, and trend boards.
  • Conduct market research.
Skills Required:
  • Experience in childrenswear and babywear for both girls and boys.
  • Experience working with high street retailers and supermarkets.
  • Be either a graphic design-led or styling-led Designer.
  • Experience with licensed goods is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of critical paths.
  • Experience liaising with Far East factories regularly.
  • Confident in designing on-trend, commercial products from concept to final design.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous management experience with high street and supermarket accounts.
