Position Overview TITLE Childcare Teacher SALARY $19.00 To $24.00/ hour CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Non- Exempt LOCATION On Site Only - Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA SCHEDULE Monday- Friday, 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, occasional weekends About the Position We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time School Age and Teen Advisor to support and guide children and adolescents in our program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with school-age children and teens, providing them with enriching activities and support that foster their social, emotional, academic development, and job readiness. You'll be responsible for Develop and implement engaging programs and activities for school-age children and teens that promote personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills. Provide individual and group support to help students navigate social, academic, and emotional challenges. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to address the needs of students and ensure a positive, supportive environment. Monitor and assess the progress and development of each child, providing feedback and recommendations as needed. Facilitate workshops and educational sessions on relevant topics, such as study skills, time management, and conflict resolution. Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to organizational policies and procedures. Assist with the bus drop-off process from the ACES after-school program, ensuring students are safely greeted and directed to the appropriate area. Conduct a daily backpack check each time children return to ensure only campus appropriate items return. You must have High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with school-age children and/or teens in an educational or recreational setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff. Ability to develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities and programs. Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting the developmental needs of children and adolescents. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and the program. Required License/ Certifications: First Aid/CPR and TB Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical requirements for performing the essential functions of this position require the employee to be able to: Standing/walking approximately 20% and sitting 80% of the time Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear and respond to simple and sometimes critical messages exchanged in noisy/high traffic areas.
