Arconic is currently in search of Chief Quality Inspector to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.

In this role you will:

  • Establish Quality Standards: Setting and maintaining quality standards for all products and processes, ensuring they meet both company and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect and Test: Conducting regular inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products including source inspection to identify any deviations from customer requirements.
  • Use Measurement Tools: Utilizing precise measurement tools and equipment, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify product dimensions and quality.
  • Documenting and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of inspections, tests, and any defects found. Reporting findings to the production team and management to facilitate corrective actions.
  • Train: Training staff to ensure consistent application of quality standards and procedures. Ongoing coaching and support for inspectors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommending and implementing improvements to production processes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all products and processes comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as production and engineering, to address quality issues and improve overall product quality. Provide back up support to peer inspectors. Working with customers to resolve quality issues/concerns.
  • Audit: Auditing customer related lot tickets to assure that all required operations have been performed in accordance with customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office package software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
