Job Description
The Chief Product Development Officer serves at the executive management level to provide scientific vision leadership across research, discovery, and translational development. The Chief Product Development Officer plays a strategic role in setting and achieving the scientific goals of the organization and one that fulfills the mission.

- Existing product portfolio and big emphasis on NPD which is currently underway
Minimum Requirements
- Doctoral degree in bioengineering, biology, skin/wound/bone healing or tissue engineering preferred
- 15+ years of experience in a regenerative medicine, biologic, medical device or tissue banking FDA regulated facility; or an appropriate combination of education and work experience
- Extensive knowledge in the field of regenerative medicine, biologics, biomaterials, and/or tissue engineering technologies
- Outstanding presentation skills and an ability to effectively communicate program progress/challenges to management, partners, investors, and to scientific audiences
- Experience with product development from the ground-up and expert knowledge of IP management
- Knowledge and experience of working under regulatory requirements including 21 CFR 1271, AATB, cGMP, cGTP, and other applicable state and federal regulations required
- Demonstrated track record of building and leading successful teams is required
- Experience in managing scientists at different stages of professional growth is required
Job Requirements
- Oversee all research initiatives and product development activities
- Lead the strategic development of product pipeline and technology platforms
- Provide expert knowledge for the development of novel regenerative therapies including cell and biomaterial-based approaches
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current advances in the field and emerging technologies
- Oversee all R&D P&L activities
- Build and lead a high-performance interdisciplinary R&D team
- Drive new product development activities to ensure continued effectiveness and market differentiation
- Manage intellectual property activities and strategic patent applications
- Support and review regulatory filings and strategy
- Partner and optimize technology transfer activities of new products into manufacturing
- Successfully build high performing interdepartmental teams
- Communicate R&D strategy and milestones to executive management, partners, and external stakeholders
- Manage and develop key relationships and partnerships with KOLs
- Develop and interact with customers to build market trust based on direct feedback from the customer base
- Support marketing of new products through manuscripts, collaborative studies, and by participating at conferences
Compensation Information
- Base: $300k-400k
