About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief of Philanthropy to lead the development, launch, and management of fundraising strategies with the goal of meeting or exceeding development targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding the donor base and diversifying funding sources and will be an active fundraiser, providing moves management for a portfolio of high-level donors. This role also involves overseeing the organization's fundraising efforts, establishing metrics for evaluation, and utilizing events to engage with prospects and current donors. The Chief of Philanthropy will work closely with the Executive Director and Chair of the Board on fundraising efforts and will manage and mentor a team of four development professionals. Applicants for the Chief of Philanthropy position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant fundraising experience, including a leadership role, and a proven track record of securing 6-figure gifts. The role requires an individual with excellent relationship-building skills, a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to think creatively to develop new fundraising approaches. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, and an interest or prior experience in education, behavioral science, or cognitive science is a plus. The Chief of Philanthropy will be expected to be a proactive and results-oriented professional, capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
